Miles Industries Ltd. - North America's leading manufacturer and distributor of Valor gas fireplace products. When they expanded their North Vancouver factory to a neighbouring building they were surprised at the costs of dedicated leased lines from the Telephone Co. Their NorTel dealer recommended that they explore the possibility of using one of our wireless links.

We went through a long sales process but eventually agreed on using low power, consumer level radios attached to focused external antennas to meet their budget. The system had to be carefully designed and set-up to avoid interference in an area with a crowded 2.4 GHz spectrum.

Since installation in February 2002, the link has functioned without interruption. "We are amazed that the link has worked so well, considering how much lower the Fairview / CoastWorks bid was compared to the competition". Pay back on the radio link, compared to lease line charges, is less than a year. "We continue to save each month. The wireless link has proved to be very efficient and economical, very good value!"
